Inclement Weather Arrangements
As most of INVIS‘s cycling courses are held outdoors, to ensure the safety of students and coaches/instructors, INVIS has established service arrangements under adverse weather. Please refer to the following sections for details:
When the Hong Kong Observatory issues Tropical Cyclone Warning Signals:

If rain is expected during the session, please prepare a windbreaker and a set of clean clothes for changing after class.
Since rain often occurs in Hong Kong and most rain is localized showers, coaches/instructors will handle the situation based on information provided by the Hong Kong Observatory and the following guidelines:

Notes
- Coaches/instructors will generally decide on training changes or cancellation arrangements 1.5 hours or more before the training starts, though the actual time may be shorter than 1.5 hours.
- According to the Terms and Conditions, all cancellation or change arrangements are considered customer absence and automatic forfeiture unless decided by a representative of INVIS, and no changes or make-up classes will be granted.
- Wet surfaces may indeed increase the chance of slipping, but controlling a bicycle on wet ground is part of cycling technique; therefore, coaches will not decide to cancel training solely due to ground wetness. In wet conditions, coaches will take measures to reduce the risk of students slipping before training starts, including but not limited to: verbally reminding students, avoiding slippery areas for training, cordoning off potentially dangerous areas, slowing down the speed, etc.
The Hong Kong Observatory may issue a Thunderstorm Warning whenever thunderstorms occur, whether the impact is widespread or involves only a specific area.
Therefore, when the Hong Kong Observatory issues a Thunderstorm Warning, the coach/instructor will decide whether to continue, immediately terminate, or cancel the training based on the information published by the Hong Kong Observatory and the actual weather conditions on-site. The arrangements are as follows:

Outdoor Training
- If there have been no reports of lightning or similar reports at the training location and its vicinity within 2 hours before the training, the coach/instructor may decide to proceed with the training as normal.
- If there have been reports of lightning or similar reports at the training location and its vicinity within 2 hours before the training, the coach/instructor may decide to relocate to indoor training; if indoor training cannot be arranged, the coach/instructor may decide to cancel.
- If thunderstorms and lightning occur during outdoor training, the coach may decide whether to continue the training under safe conditions based on the actual on-site situation; if the coach/instructor decides to end the training early, no make-up class will be granted for the training.
When the Hong Kong Observatory issues a Landslip Warning:
- Training on indoor premises, roads, or cycling paths may continue under safe conditions; however, coaches should choose routes away from slopes for training.
- All mountain bike (MTB) training will be cancelled.
When the Hong Kong Observatory issues the Strong Monsoon Signal:
- All training remains normal.
- Students in outdoor training must stay particularly alert for sudden strong gusts on the road, which may lead to instability in bicycle handling.
When the Hong Kong Observatory issues the Very Hot Weather Warning:
- All training will remain normal, but the coach/instructor may change, reduce, or shorten the training based on actual conditions; if necessary, the training may be relocated to an indoor venue.
- Coaches/instructors should consider reducing the training volume and arranging more rest periods for students.
- All students and coaches/instructors are reminded to replenish adequate fluids regularly.
- During the period when the Very Hot Weather Warning is in effect, the sun is generally very intense during the daytime; all students and coaches/instructors are reminded to apply sufficient sunscreen.
- Students are requested to prepare a set of replacement clothing to change into after the completion of training.
- If any student feels unwell during training due to the weather, the training should be terminated immediately for proper handling.
When the Hong Kong Observatory issues the Cold Weather Warning:
- All training will remain normal, but the coach/instructor may change, reduce, or shorten the training based on actual conditions; if necessary, the training may be relocated to an indoor venue.
- All students and coaches/instructors are reminded to wear sufficient warm clothing.
- If any student feels unwell during training due to the weather, the training should be terminated immediately for proper handling.
When the Air Quality Health Index (AQHI) issued by the Environmental Protection Department reaches “Very High” level or above:

Change and Cancellation Arrangements
- Coaches and instructors may decide to change or cancel training independently in accordance with the “Inclement Weather Arrangements” without seeking prior approval from the company.
- If a coach/instructor intends to change or cancel training, a decision will generally be made 1.5 to 2 hours before the start of training. However, the actual time may be shorter than 1.5 hours due to changes in weather, and customers shall raise no objection.
- If a coach/instructor decides to relocate to indoor training, students may be required to provide their own bicycle rollers (Roller) or trainers (Trainer). If a student is unable to train due to lack of relevant equipment, it will be regarded as voluntary forfeiture, and no make-up class or compensation in any form will be granted.
- For certain service plans, even if the customer is absent or voluntarily waives participation, make-up classes can still be arranged by paying a service fee. Please refer to the terms on individual invoices for details.
The above procedures, guidelines, and terms are for reference only. Coaches/instructors have the right to immediately decide to cancel training at any time due to safety considerations. In the event of any discrepancy between the above content and the INVIS CYCLING “General Cycling Service Policy,” the terms within the INVIS CYCLING “General Cycling Service Policy” shall prevail.
Change, Cancellation, Refund, and Make-up Policy
- No Refund Policy: Once a service application is accepted and confirmed by INVIS, no requests for cancellation, transfer, or refund will be accepted for any reason, except in cases where the service quota is full or the organizer cancels the event.
- Service Changes and Administrative Fees: After payment confirmation, any changes to a booking (including but not limited to date, time, location, or service content) shall be subject to a designated administrative fee (refer to the relevant service prospectus for details). All change applications must be submitted within the specified notice period; otherwise, they will not be processed.
- Definition of Absence and Forfeiture: All requests for cancellation or change of booking will be regarded as customer absence and automatic forfeiture unless written approval is obtained from an authorized INVIS representative. Absentee participants will not be granted changes, make-up classes, or refunds, and all paid fees will be fully forfeited.
- Make-up Class Arrangements:
- If a make-up class is approved, the time, location, and assigned coach (requests for specific coaches are not accepted) shall be determined solely by INVIS.
- Confirmed make-up class times cannot be changed again. Those who are absent from a make-up class will be regarded as having forfeited the session automatically and will not be granted a second make-up.
- It is the customer’s responsibility to proactively contact INVIS or use the online system to reschedule the make-up class.
- 90-Day Deadline and Reactivation Fee:
- All approved changes or make-up classes must be completed within 90 days from the original service date; otherwise, they will automatically expire and be regarded as forfeiture.
- If a customer wishes to reactivate an expired right for change/make-up, it must be approved by INVIS and the administrative surcharge must be paid. The validity period of the relevant service will be recalculated from the date of reactivation.
- Special Refund Applications: In extreme circumstances, if INVIS considers a refund at its sole discretion, the customer must complete and submit the official “Refund Application Form.” INVIS reserves the right of final audit and refusal, and may deduct any incurred administrative expenses.
