Mui Wo MTB Experience Class
FAQs

Q1. Can I enroll in the MTB Experience Class?

You can enroll as long as you have the basic ability to “ride a two-wheeled bicycle.” The Mui Wo practice ground is perfectly designed for beginners. Our coaches will start from the basics, such as center-of-gravity balance and braking techniques, guiding you safely through various off-road obstacles.

Q2. How many lessons do I need to take?

It is entirely up to your own needs. You can start with a single session to experience the fun of the Mui Wo practice ground. If you wish to master center-of-gravity balance, obstacle crossing, or Pump Track techniques, you can enroll in additional sessions to solidify your foundation. We have no fixed lesson requirements—the most important thing is to enjoy at your own pace.

Q3. Are adults and children separated into different classes for the Open classes?

Mui Wo classes adopt a “Family Fun” model, where adults and children learn together in the same mixed group. Coaches will flexibly adjust demonstrations and practice content based on the progress of each student on-site, making it perfect for groups of friends or families to participate together.

Q4. Can students with SEN (Special Educational Needs) enroll?

  • Enrollment Advice: As SEN students may require more focused guidance in understanding instructions or physical coordination, to ensure teaching effectiveness and safety, SEN students must enroll in “Private Classes”.
  • Mandatory Declaration: Parents must proactively state any special needs of the student during enrollment.
  • Professional Arrangement: Through 1-on-1 private coaching, instructors can adjust the teaching pace based on the student’s immediate response, providing the most suitable care and safety assurance.
  • Safety Considerations: If an enrollment in an **Open** group class is made without declaration or assessment, INVIS reserves the right to request the student transfer to a private class for safety reasons.

Q5. Do parents need to be present?

Parents do not need to be present. Due to limited seating in the transfer vehicles between Tung Chung and Mui Wo, priority is given to registered participants; therefore, parents do not need to (and cannot) travel with the group. Students will practice under the coach’s guidance at the Mui Wo practice ground.

Q6. What are the arrangements for bad weather or rain?

  • Cancellation Decision: If a class is unable to proceed due to inclement weather, the instructor will make a cancellation decision 1.5 hours before the scheduled class time.
  • Make-up Class Arrangement: If the cancellation is decided by INVIS, students can arrange a make-up class within three months from the cancellation date. Since bad weather may affect many students simultaneously, please proactively contact us via WhatsApp or phone to confirm class status and arrangements to avoid any missed messages.

Q7. Does the course include a bicycle and helmet? Do I need to bring my own gear?

All-inclusive fees, just show up and ride! Whether it’s a private or **Open** group class, we use a one-stop pricing model to save you the hassle of preparing equipment:
  • Full Gear Included: Fees include the rental of professional MTBs, helmets, and safety pads (knee and elbow pads) at no extra cost.
  • Transportation: Fees include round-trip shuttle transfers between Tung Chung/Pa Mei and Mui Wo.
  • Bringing Your Own Bike: Students may bring their own bikes, but must state this in advance when booking. Due to limited space in the shuttle, we may not be able to accommodate your bike without prior registration. Please note that no discounts are provided for using your own bike.
  • Recommended Attire: Please wear lightweight sportswear and flat-bottom athletic shoes. Loose-fitting long pants (wide-leg pants) are not recommended to prevent them from getting caught in the bike chain.
  • Reminder: Please provide your height when enrolling so we can prepare the most suitable bike size for you.

Q8. What are the qualifications of the coaches/instructors?

  • Certified Instructors: All INVIS instructors hold professional instructor certificates and possess professional teaching qualifications.
  • Training Provider: INVIS is a provider for instructor training. In addition to teaching students, we are responsible for training professional instructors within the industry, ensuring our teaching standards remain at the forefront.

Q9. What is the class size? Can I specify a coach/instructor?

  • We insist on small-class teaching to ensure every student receives ample guidance and safety assurance.
    **Open** Group Class (High-Quality Ratio):
Teaching Ratio: Standard is 1:1 to 1:4 (i.e., one instructor to a maximum of four students), ensuring instructors can immediately correct your advanced movements.
Maximum Capacity: The actual limit is 1:10; for better teaching effectiveness, our ratio is kept well below the actual maximum, not exceeding 1:10.
Instructor Arrangement: Professional instructors are unified and arranged by INVIS based on course progress; individual requests are not available.
    Private Intensive Class (High Flexibility):
Teaching Ratio: The number of participants is up to you; we recommend 1:1 to 1:4 to maintain optimal learning results.
Specified Instructor: Private classes allow for a specified coach/instructor, subject to an additional “Specified Instructor Surcharge.”

Q10. What skills will I learn in the course?

We will utilize the professional facilities at the Mui Wo practice ground to focus on teaching: correct standing riding posture, weight transfer, handling uneven surfaces, crossing ground obstacles, and the most popular Pump Track experience.

Q11. How are the transportation transfers arranged?

Fees include round-trip transfers between “Tung Chung and Mui Wo.” We will meet at Tung Chung Station and pass through the “Pa Mei” pick-up point. Due to the nature of mountain road schedules and limited seating, transfer services are strictly for registered participants; accompanying friends, family, or parents must arrange their own transportation. Please arrive at the designated meeting point on time, as the shuttle will not wait for latecomers.

Q12. Can I earn Asia Miles upon enrollment?

You can earn miles by enrolling in designated courses; however, mileage rewards are subject to the relevant terms and conditions.

Please note that mileage rewards can only be earned by the participant personally and cannot be claimed by others. For example, parents cannot use their own Cathay membership accounts to earn miles for their children’s courses.

All relevant information (including Cathay membership number and name) must be proactively provided for registration before the class starts. If the information is not submitted before the class, the corresponding miles will not be retroactively issued.

Q13. Are there any trial classes?

We do not offer dedicated trial classes. The Mui Wo **Open** experience class itself is designed as a “single-session experience,” allowing you to get a preliminary feel for MTB handling and fun within 2 to 3 hours. You can enroll in one **Open** class first; if you find it suitable, you can then decide whether to continue booking private classes or multiple practice sessions to solidify your skills.

Q14. Do I need to book many lessons at once? Can I enroll session by session?

You can enroll session by session. You can flexibly book a single experience or practice class each time according to your schedule and interest.

Q15. Can I reschedule after enrollment?

  • Limited Availability: Since every class is small-class teaching, spots are very limited. Please confirm your schedule before enrolling.
  • Administrative Fee for Changes: Any confirmed booking that requires changes will be subject to an administrative fee (including rescheduling due to illness).
  • Administrative Fee: Fees for each change are calculated based on the notification time:
    • More than 7 days before class: $150 per change
    • Within 7 days before class: $250 per change

Q16. Why must I enquire about dates via WhatsApp?

Mui Wo **Open** classes require a “minimum group size” to proceed (at least 2 participants per session). You can enquire about the current group formation progress first, or sign up with friends to ensure the class proceeds as scheduled. Additionally, MTB experiences are restricted by daylight; no evening classes are available, and dates depend on instructor availability.

Q17. Is it possible that I won't be able to book a class within the validity period?

The skill level for each session depends on the first student who books that slot.

INVIS recommends that before making a payment, you enquire with us via 3543 0033 to finalize the dates and times for all your lessons. Once a booking is confirmed, INVIS will fulfill the confirmed arrangement.

If you do not book all four sessions at the time of payment, you may not secure your most preferred time slots. INVIS will not be held responsible if the validity period expires due to such delays.

Q18. Are there any MTB Camps?

You can customize your own progress! We currently do not offer multi-day training camps on fixed dates, as the Mui Wo classes operate on a highly flexible booking system:
  • Free Combination: You can enroll “session by session” at your own pace. Whether you want to practice for several consecutive days or join us every other week, it achieves the same effect as a self-organized training camp.
  • Higher Flexibility: No need to be restricted to specific long holiday dates. As long as the minimum group size is met or you book a private class, any day can be your “exclusive training day.”
  • Recommended Approach: Beginners can first enroll in a single experience session. If you enjoy it and want to progress further, simply WhatsApp us anytime to book subsequent dates for progressive practice.
